Guest Lectures
What are Guest Lectures?
Want a National Champion to attend your debate team's practice?
Choose one of the prepared lesson plans, or request a custom practice plan
Get feedback for your students through ballots distributed at the end of the session (if speeches are delivered)
Gain access to exclusive resources and support through your debate season
What does a session look like?
Guest Lectures are a buffet-style practice; choose what you'd like to do and our instructors will create your team a customized practice. Please consider:
the length of the practice or chamber (30 minutes to 3 hours)
whether you are looking for a series of practices or a single session
whether you would like to have a customized practice created or a prepared lesson plan
prepared lessons include 1-hour lectures on: speeches, questioning, contention building, refutation/weighing/crystalization, presiding & Robert's Rules of Order, and legislation writing
whether you are looking to have resources distributed to your team alongside the practice (worksheets, presiding materials, and more)
From here, a custom lesson will be created based on your time constraints and the level of experience of your team.
What is the cost?
As Guest Lectures are extremely variable in their form, function, and level of work required for content creation and season support, their pricing is established on a case-by-case basis.
